Our Start
People with disabilities often face a road of accessibility challenges that can at times feel impossible to overcome. If it’s a struggle and long battle to receive common accommodations like a wheelchair built for navigating around our communities, imagine the difficulties of finding accessible tools for accommodations not often thought about. When founders, Brandy and Desmond Deadwyler had their first born son, Reese, they unknowingly embarked on a long journey of fighting for more accessible accommodations for people with disabilities.
Vision
We believe in creating an inclusive world accessible to anyone with special needs.
Mission
We collaborate with individuals, families, and communities ready to find, design, and implement innovative solutions for inclusion and accessibility.
Our Mindset
For Desmond, a task as simple as going grocery shopping was something he wanted to show to his two sons. He had done so, since they were newborns. When his oldest son finally received the wheelchair he needed to navigate his world, the task of going grocery shopping morphed into a daunting task of pushing a wheelchair, a cart full of groceries, and keeping the attention of his two toddlers. Researching for purchasable options led to dead ends or costly prices. Giving up wasn’t an option for him or his kids. Solving the challenge was the only way forward. The family wanted a custom adaptation that could be reproduced for any family in a similar situation. This mindset is what led to their first creation. Finding others with the same mindset is what led to the creation of Inventions for Inclusion.
